For visitors from all over the world, the first point of contact at the piping manufacturer aquatherm’s headquarters in Attendorn has so far been the training centre. With the new “aquatherm Campus” a modern meeting place was created, which is now available for external visitors as well as internal training.
“We want a visit to aquatherm to be an experience for our customers and business partners. With our new campus, we succeed in doing that,” explains Dirk Rosenberg, managing director of aquatherm together with his brothers Christof and Maik. The training centre, which was around 20 years old, was replaced and rebuilt in the premises of the former prefabrication department, which had already moved in 2019 – with numerous innovations that meet the desire for flexible use as well as creative development.
“The new campus, which in addition to the training centre also contains our cafeteria and lounge, is intended to be a place where people meet, exchange ideas and learn from each other – in other words, a place by people for people,” says Dirk Rosenberg. It is aimed not only at external visitors, but also at employees, who can hold training courses, workshops, and advanced training courses here. A flexible room design allows events in front of a large audience but also smaller seminars. The individual rooms of the campus tell the story of aquatherm: For example, the rooms “Garage” and “Barn” refer to the beginnings of the company in Attendorn-Ennest, the “Wide View” allows a view of the entire company premises and the river Bigge. In the workshop area, visitors familiarise themselves with the techniques for processing aquatherm piping systems.
Sustainability and modern technology
In the museum-like exhibition area, visitors can interactively learn everything about the company’s history, philosophy, and products. Entertaining elements are the focus: For example, customers can inform themselves about the application of aquatherm piping systems in the sports sector and then prove their skills at the basketball hoop, the goal wall, or the table tennis table. Thanks to a swing, visitors lose their grip on the ground for a moment and see things from a different perspective.
The sustainability concept came into play at many points during the construction project. Numerous materials already available in the company were reused. Among other things, you can find floors from former trade fair stands, a room partition from the old training centre or refurbished trade fair tables. Of course, aquatherm’s own products were also used. The surface heating and cooling system, aquatherm black system, which was mounted on ceiling sails, provides a pleasant temperature control. The industrial culture character of the campus refers to the numerous construction projects all over the world in which aquatherm is at home with its products.
Dirk Rosenberg: “The new campus is based entirely on our own ideas and, with its individuality, completely represents us and our values. We are pleased to be able to present visitors from all over the world a piece of aquatherm as well as our sustainable products as ‘part of the solution’ on the way to a climate-neutral life.”
