Hanse Hotel with innovations for its 10th birthday - aquatherm black heats new bowling alley.
Built in 2013, the Hanse Hotel has extended its modern architecture by adding a new spectacular facet to the cityscape of Attendorn, Germany. As an innovation for its 10th birthday, the four-star hotel now offers its guests two bowling alleys that combine meetings, conferences, and company or family celebrations with very special entertainment. Just like in the entire hotel, aquatherm products were used. The Hanse Hotel and aquatherm are closely connected: aquatherm founder Gerhard Rosenberg built the hotel after his active time in the company for polypropylene piping systems, and therefore became a hotel owner in his retirement. He had precise ideas about the building, which was in no way to become a "shoebox". The futuristic design, two round structures in the shape of a figure eight, glass domes on the roof and a glass facade, are the most striking external features of the hotel. The three-storey building contains 99 rooms, a front-cooking restaurant, three bars, and several meeting and event rooms.
The ground floor houses a restaurant with an international cuisine in addition to the reception area. The latter invites guests on a culinary trip around the world and is also open to non-hotel guests - as is the dance bar at a later hour. Guests can recharge their batteries the next day in the spa area with two saunas, steam bath, infrared cabin, salt relaxation room and heat benches. An outdoor area on the hotel's roof terrace offers the ideal setting to relax in peace after an eventful day. A fitness area and a beer garden with 150 seats complete the offer.
High-quality furnishings - also for the building services
Only high-quality materials were used for the furnishings and fittings, which set an exclusive standard. This also applies to the technical building equipment. For Gerhard Rosenberg, the use of aquatherm products was a matter of course. Therefore, all product lines of the pipe manufacturer were installed. In order to guarantee the drinking water distribution in the building, aquatherm green was installed. The hygienically flawless, tasteless and odourless piping system guarantees the preservation of the drinking water quality permanently. The connection of the heating and cooling technology in the hotel was acquired with aquatherm blue. The physical properties of the plastic are adapted to the special needs of the heating and cooling sector and are characterised by high temperature and pressure resistance. To provide the necessary safety in case of a fire, aquatherm red was installed. This is the first plastic sprinkler pipe system to be certified by VDS Schadenverhütung GmbH, Europe's largest institute for corporate safety.
The hotel’s temperature is operated by the aquatherm black surface heating and cooling system. Installed on the exterior facade, in the common rooms, and in the walls and ceilings in the rooms, it provides warmth in winter and coolness in summer. The new bowling alley, located in the basement of the building, is also equipped with aquatherm black. 80 elements of 220 x 34 cm each were installed along the two side walls. The black registers, made of corrosion-resistant polypropylene, ensure an optimal room temperature through an even exchange of radiation with the surfaces surrounding the room. Draughts or dust swirls are excluded by this process. Due to the small installation distance of the register pipes, and the high surface density of aquatherm black per square metre achieved as a result, the system can be operated with lower flow temperatures than conventional heating systems and, in combination with its fast reactivity, enables a particularly efficient and energy-saving operation.
